Jan Frederik De Cock in a visual dialogue with Karl Moser's University Architecture and the Archaeological Collection of UZH
In preparation for his large-scale exhibition at Kunsthaus Zürich in the Fall of 2027, Belgian artist Jan Frederik De Cock dives into the Archeological Collection of the University of Zurich.
More than 100 years ago, plaster casts of ancient sculptures from the Archaeological Collection shaped the Lichthof of the University of Zurich. Known as the “Garden of Gods,” the Lichthof served as the collection’s central exhibition space inside the main building designed by Karl Moser.
Jan De Cock revisits this historical setting and, for a brief moment, parts of the collection return to their original location—combined with De Cock’s own sculptural interventions.
