Genomic imprinting

Plant biologist Michael Raissig addresses one of the most pressing questions of our time in his research. "In a world where the population is expected to double by 2050 and the climate is undergoing dramatic changes, gaining knowledge about plants and their development is essential to ensure the world's population's food supply today and in the future," says Raissig.

In his research, he has made a significant step closer to understanding the phenomenon of genomic imprinting, which plays a role in the reproduction of both plants and mammals.

Michael Raissig completed his dissertation at the Institute of Plant Biology at the University of Zurich under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ueli Grossniklaus and has been conducting research at Stanford University since 2014.
